Acid disorders constitute diseases of the upper GI tract. It typically presents as a burning discomfort or pain at the area of the stomach just below the ribs. It can also present as heartburn / reflux.
There are several causes for these group of disorders including: stress, certain medications, smoking, obesity, among others.

Ulcer Disorders
An ulcer is a wound in the lining of your GI tract. Ulcers can be found anywhere from the mouth, oesophagus, stomach, small and large intestines.
The causes range from:
- H. Pylori infection
- Certain medications (Aspirin, Diclofenac, Brufen, Prednisone)
- Very high amounts of stomach acid
